The Bridal Lounge of York opened in February 2009 and we have had a great time since, providing a different offer to brides.  It has been wonderful, thanks to all my customers.  The store is different…. I  offer dresses available to take away immediately and provide full support for that dress to fit you as if it was made for you.  

I set up the bridal shop,  The Bridal Lounge of York, when I realised the length of time a bride usually has to wait after placing an order for their bridal gown, sometimes up to 6 months.  I know that in some cases, this time is not available for a bride to prepare for their big day. Not only that, the average price of a bridal gown is nearly £900, and not every bride has the benefit of time, or budget to be able to find their dress.  Our average priced dress in the store is just £590.

We have two options available in the store;

We have dresses that were previously sample dresses, or dresses that are no longer made anymore that I buy direct from the manufacturers.  These dresses are available from £190 – £550 and are a discounted price from the original retail price.   You are saving approximately 40% off the suggested retail price.  Some customers cannot believe the price – and ask me if the price is correct on the ticket!  Yes, that is the price you pay, no hidden extras!

Additionally, we have dresses that can be ordered in any size and a variety of colour – like a traditional bridal shop .  We are stockists of Esence of Australia, Venus Bridal, and Forever Yours and we have a huge collection of our own label range available that are exclusive to us.  Our own label range are not only competively priced, but offer a more unique and exclusive appeal as they are produced and designed for The Bridal Lounge of York.

I keep my costs down, which is how I can offer dresses at such affordable prices.  Alteration services are undertaken outside of the store so that the bride gets the best price possible through local businesses.  They specialise in bridal alterations.  

The Bridal Lounge of York has over 150 bridal gowns in stock.  Any of our dresses,  can be taken away on the day of purchase. We have bridal gowns in sizes from 8 to 22,  whether you want a church wedding or a beach location, we have choices available to cover the full spectrum. We also have a large collection of informal dresses for brides that want a less traditional dress.

We are centrally located, just a few minutes walk from Tanner Row car park. Easily accessible by bus and train, the store is conveniently located for you to combine your visit with a leisure day shopping in York.

I would recommend you make an appointment, prior to your visit any time to the store. That way, we guarantee personal service, and exclusive use of one of our two dressing rooms.  If you do not make an appointment, we cannot guarantee we can spend any time with you to assist you.

We also have a selection of accessories to complement your bridal gown including tiaras,  garters, veils, jackets and handbags to complete your look.  We do not sell bridesmaids dresses, so therefore the full store is dedicated to you, the bride.
