What is a trunk show?

It is common in the world of fashion where designers showcase an extended offer of their complete collection for a limited time period.  So for this weekend only, we will have a larger collection of the latest Essence of Australia wedding dresses for you to try in store.  After the weekend, these dresses will be returned to the designer.  Some of these dresses are not available in shops yet as they are straight off the catwork.  So a Trunk show is a good way to be the first to see, first to choose and first to wear these captivating designer wedding dresses. 

Appointments are bookable in advance, and this will be a busy weekend so I do suggest you book ahead. 

 For this weekend only, I am offering brides a discount of 15% off the retail price for orders placed over that weekend on the Trunk Show dresses only.  This discount is not available on other dresses in the store and is only available for orders placed that weekend.  A 50% deposit is required to order a dress.  Ella Bridals dresses are in a price range of between £840 to £1,000.

As the dresses are only available in store for that weekend, to get the best out of your appointment I suggest two things:

1. Bring someone whose opinion you trust

2. It may be useful to try some wedding dresses on before attending the trunk show, so that you get an idea of what you like and dont like – it will help you get the best out of your hours appointment.

Please call the store on 01904 654 254 if you wish to make an appointment.

As appointments are limited, and it will be busy, please can I ask that you call the store if you wish to amend or cancel your appointment prior to the Trunk Show so that I can offer your appointment to other brides.  I do not charge for an appointment, although it does cost money for any bridal shop  to offer an appointment so I always appreciate it if you call if you do need to amend your appointment.

We are delighted to announce the arrival of Ella Bridal in store.  This designer collection is the sister company to Essence of Australia.  Always one to offer the best choice at the most affordable price, this designer range offers the designer look of Essence at a lower price.  Below are some of the designer gowns we have in store.  Their full collection can be viewed at www.ellabridals.com  If we dont have the dress in the store that you wish to try on, we are happy for the dress to be sent to us – although there will be a charge for this of £40.  A guide price for the Ella Bridal Collection is £850 – £1,000.

The customer service at The Bridal Lounge of York is absolutely first rate. I was nervous about the whole experience of getting a wedding dress and Emma was amazing, I felt completely comfortable from the moment I walked in the shop. Having visited a few other shops where I had felt a bit like a fish out of water, this was an altogether much more enjoyable experience. I felt reassured that everything to do with finding the right dress, getting it delivered, the fitting and the overall result was totally smooth and I had every confidence that I could discuss any concerns and seek their advice. They truly are the experts. Thanks Emma, it was a perfect day and I felt so very special in my beautiful dress.

I was delighted to receive the email from Claire with her photographs.  I remember when she first came into the store with her friend and now she is married!  It just feels like 5 minutes ago!

Thank you and your staff once again for the fabulous and friendly service you provided for myself in choosing my wedding dress. I cannot believe that it is all over now after all those months of waiting and altering the dress. We had a fantastic day and the weather was beautiful, so fortunate with how our summer has been so far.
I have attached a couple of photographs which may be useful for future brides who may want to get an idea of how a wide strap would look on a dress. You may like to show these to Karen as it was her brilliant handiwork that made the dress exactly what I wanted.

The Bridal Lounge of York and it’s lovely staff made choosing my wedding dress a real pleasure and a lot of fun. All three ladies who dealt with me made me feel like nothing was too much trouble, making me feel at ease straight away and offering some great advice about what would suit me. Their attitude towards helping you to find the right dress was fantastic, not rushing you to make a decision and offering a very reasonable refund policy in case you change your mind. I would recommend it to everyone!

A fantastic, spacious and beautiful shop with a very impressive collection. My helper was incredibly patient and kind. I bought and walked away with my beautiful dress the same afternoon – what a weight off my mind. Of all the shops I went in to look for dresses, this was the most welcoming, helpful, and had the nicest atmosphere. 

It was wonderful to hear from a customer of the Bridal Lounge of York who kindly sent me some photographs that capture her special day.  I remember Mary like it was just yesterday, and it surprises me how fast things come round!  From seeing Mary when she came in to try on her dress, meeting her parents from France, and then seeing her for the last time as she left with her bridal gown.  Mary married in France, and sent me a message to let me know how much she enjoyed the day!

June was a great month  not only did we feel the start of summer and seeing alot of our customers come back in to visit us as their big day approached, but we also saw more new exciting things happening in store! 

We are very excited  to have seen this review from Natalie on our facebook site in June 2010:

I still have Natalies card in my store and the photograph from her wedding.  Every time I look at it, it brings a smile to my face.  Such a natural photograph.  Natalie was an absolute pleasure to deal with.  Such a shame that the journey ends for me when the wedding takes place!

We have also enhanced our crime prevention measures by installing CCTV cameras.  This is a measure that adds benefits to our customers and the staff that work within the store.  By preventing crime, we keep our costs down for our customers.  You can be assured that by taking these measures it is another step we are making to offering affordable bridal gowns.  We constantly seek to ensure we offer the best price possible to helping you manage your wedding budget.  Not only that, we are a business that cares about our employees and will take the necessary steps to ensure a safe working environment for those people who care about offering you the best possible service.

Our recyling programme has been enhanced.  We now ensure all cardboard in the shop is recycled appropriately.  We  have invested the time and money to ensure we are a business that gives necessary care to look after our environment.  No cardboard leaves our shop which is not recycled.

Finally, we are very excited about the new dresses that arrived in our collection.  Scarlett, Melody, and Eden arrived in our collection this month.  We receive new dresses every month, so if you do not find “the one” on your first visit, we are happy to call you when something more suitable arrives in store.  Just let us know what you are looking for.    Below are the picutres of Scarlett, Melody and Eden that arrived in June.
